These are our ideas for our advert and digipak. The top image will be used as an idea for our digipak as the front image. I feel this is effective because it includes the silhouette of our actor as well as the main scene for our music video of Roseberry Topping.

Lesson Progress

Today in lesson we got a chance to peer review each others work and I have some constructive criticism on my work to m=improve it overall. The system we used is ABC (Add, Build, Challenge) for me I had the following feedback:

A: Add more cuts and shorter paced clips

B: Lip syncing parts really good but could be shorter and more cuts

C: Develop narrative further

I will then use this information to alter my video on construct a better music video.

Shooting Schedule



Our group have decided that we will go out to get the second part of our music video and flashbacks for the throughout part of out music video. we will go get our flashbacks from 1pm on Saturday, where we will visit Crimdon beach to get  some scenes of our artist walking the dog with his girl, and perhaps get some images of him and her walking the dog in the park. we will also visit cafe Rappor in hartlepool town to get some shots of them in the cafe. the plan also includes getting the out of focus shots of the car from rosemary topping however we plan to find a similar place rather than going back to rosemary topping. once we have to sets we just plan to get some shots of them just hanging out in general in Declan's house. the Sunday we plan to leave hartlepool at 5-6 on Sunday to go to the Infinity bridge in Stockton on tees at night to get some romantic shots.

Today we went to the studio and we got more footage of our music video. We filmed three bits of footage, these pieces of footage are of the full song but they were from different angles. one is a close up of a guitar and the other two are of the singer from different angles.

Shot Count (Stereophonics)

In this Stereophonics’ music video ‘Indian Summer’, there is a total of 165 shots that range between long shots, medium shots and close ups. Each shot in this music video lasts for a maximum of approximately 5 beats in the verses and about 8 beats in the chorus. This creates an effect that the camera is never still and makes the flow of the music video go with the song.


The target audience of this specific music video is a mix between men and women, this is because it is a male perspective of a love story and also it is quite interesting for women to follow the story and I know for a fact that Stereophonics has a fairly sizeable female audience. I would assume that the audience appreciate the sound of alternative rock, which is a really neat, and acquired taste.


I do think that the audience is predominantly male because I think a lot of the audience listen to this song as they may relate to the song and the narrative of the song such as the love story and the train journey. Each shot from the music video is flowing and it just goes with the song and the rhythm of the song.
